Follow our activities and events!

The team from the Department of Geodesy and Geoinformatics at Wrocław Tech / Wrocław University of Science and Technology together with the partners from the Institute of Mine Surveying and Geodesy at TUBAF / TU Bergakademie Freiberg and the European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation, implementing the project “Digital Journey through Muskau Arch Geopark”, invites you to follow our activities and participate in our events. In the upcoming months there will be several opportunities to meet us, to learn more about our project and see the first results.

🔹 April, 8-9 – field survey (old mine „Babina”)
We will be conducting fieldwork using the latest geodetic equipment (drone, laser scanner, 360 camera) to collect 3D data for creating digital twin models of mining objects, including those that no longer exist. We are developing these models with augmented reality (AR) and 3D printing applications in mind—the first test prints have already been produced.

🔹 April, 16 – Earth Day in Klein Kölzig
Prof. Jörg Benndorf from TU Freiberg will present the objectives of our project, its first results and demonstrations of measurement technologies for children and school-age youth. It will be a good opportunity to learn how we use new technologies to promote mining heritage.

🔹 May, 3 – picnic / festival in Łęknica
We invite you to an open family event organized by the Cultural and Educational Center of the Geopark Muskau Arch in Łęknica, where you will be able to learn about the project in an accessible and interactive way at our stand.

🔹 May 8, 2026 – 24th Geokinematic Day (GeoTag) in Freiberg
We will be presenting at the GeoTag conference, which focuses on geomonitoring, geodesy and geological risk assessment. During our presentation, we will showcase the initial outcomes of our project, including examples of modern technologies such as AR solutions.

🔹 After the summer break – Geotop Day
On the first Saturday of October, we will gather at the annual event organized by the Lipinki Forest District, where we will present the first results of the project at our stand. More information is coming soon.

🔹 October, 8-9 – XI National GEO-PRODUKT Forum
We invite you to take part in the Forum in Łęknica and Bad Muskau, dedicated to the theme “Industrial Heritage as a Geoproduct.” It is a space for exchanging knowledge and inspiration regarding the modern use of heritage.

The project “Digital Journey through Muskau Arch Geopark” is co-financed by the European Union with funds from the European Regional Development Fund as part of the Poland-Saxony 2021-2027 INTERREG Cooperation Program.
