On 9 April 2026, a joint field survey was carried out in Klein Kölzig, Germany, by a team from Wrocław University of Science and Technology in cooperation with TU Freiberg as part of the “Digital Journey Through Muskau Arch Geopark” project.
The fieldwork aimed to collect detailed data required for the digital reconstruction of the geometry of the Old Brickworks building – one of the sites associated with the region’s heritage.
During the fieldwork, modern surveying technologies were used:
- LiDAR scanning, which enabled the acquisition of a dense point cloud and detailed representation of the building’s geometry,
- photogrammetry, used to complement the geometric data and acquire information about the building’s texture,
- 360° panoramas, which will be used to create a virtual tour of the site.
The collected data will provide a basis for further analyses and will be used to develop 3D models and visualisation materials. By combining different surveying technologies, it will be possible to create detailed digital documentation of the Old Brickworks and make the site accessible in a virtual environment.
