First official meeting of project partners on April 16, 2025
The beautiful headquarters of the European Territorial Cooperation Grouping Polish-German UNESCO Global Geopark Muskau Arch held the first official meeting of the partners of the project “Digital journey through Muskau Arch Geopark”, which has been implemented since April this year as part of the funding obtained from the INTERREG Poland-Saxony Cooperation Programme 2021-2027.
The project leader is Wrocław University of Science and Technology and the partners are TU Bergakademie Freiberg and the Geopark Muskau Arch.
The aim of the project is to develop an augmented reality application providing digital, virtual, models of the region’s mining and geological heritage. The first part of the meeting focused on the discussion of plans and key activities, including the selection of sites to develop their “digital twins” and the organisation of a conference in September. Then, taking advantage of the favourable weather, we headed out into the field, where we looked at the locations of potential sites for the digital journey through the Geopark.
Further hard and exciting work awaits us after Easter.
